Father Daniel S Sangma SDB Ordained priest in Meghalaya  by Father Jimmy T. Sangma
Guwahati, Feb. 13. 2017 ``The Almighty has done great things for me, holy is His name.`` Echoing the Psalmist`s sentiments, Father Daniel Simsang Sangma stood for the first time before a large gathering of priests, religious, Catholic faithful and others, and recounted with gratitude his memorable journey to priesthood. Father Daniel Simsang Sangma was conferred the Order of Priesthood by Bishop Andrew R Marak DD, the Bishop of Tura on 11th February 2017 at Chima Impel Parish in North Garo Hills, Meghalaya.
Born to a pious family of Mr Orith Rangsa Marak and Mrs Jobitha Simsang Sangma on 27 December 1980, Father Daniel is the second child of the five siblings. His religious upbringing by his God-fearing parents and the good example of those around him in his growing years instilled in him the seed of vocation, he recalled.

Bishop Andrew while delivering the homily gave a customary advice to the newly ordained priest exhorting him to be a priest for all and to be faithful to the priestly ministry. He further exhorted him to be faithful to prayer life which only can sustain his priestly life and make him effective as a priest of God.

On 12th February, the new priest celebrated his Thanksgiving Holy Eucharist with about 15 priests concelebrating with him. A good number of the parishioners received the First Holy Communion during the Mass. Father Januarius S Sangma SDB, Vice Provincial of Guwahati Province conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation being delegated by the Bishop of Tura. Father Januarius preached the homily and explained to the people about the Sacrament of Priesthood. ``We need to continue to pray for Father Daniel and all the priests``, he exhorted the gathering.

Father Daniel is appointed to Don Bosco Socio-Technical Institute, Tezpur for his priestly ministry. We wish him a fruitful and happy ministry in the vineyard of the Lord and assure him of our prayerful support in his journey as a priest of God. May he be a priest after the heart of the Eternal Priest!
