DBI organizes `Youth Pasch 2017`   by Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim
Guwahati, Apr. 17. 2017 The 11th Annual Youth Pasch of Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli Assam was a celebration of faith and fellowship by the young people. The programme was inaugurated on 12th April by Ms. Daphira Pyngrope, a Jesus Youth member, Shillong. Fr. Johnson Parackal, Rector and Executive Director of DBI invited the young people present to take active part in celebrating the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The main aim of the Youth Pasch was to bring the youth together and closer to God and celebrate, share their faith.  It was a moment of re- enacting and re-living the Paschal Mystery of the life of Jesus: the passion, death and resurrection from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday.
More than four hundred youth participated in the Youth Pasch. The youth were invited to enliven their faith via animations, sessions, prayer moments, Church service etc. On Holy Thursday, Father Devasia Vazhayil, SDB, Rector, St. Anthony`s College, Shillong shared with the young people the Christian Doctrine of faith to prepare them to enter into the Paschal Mystery of Christ. In the evening the Youth were led to the most touching moments of Jesus` life: that is, the anointing of the feet of Jesus in Bethany, the washing of the feet of the apostles, the last supper, giving the new commandment of love, arrest of Jesus and an hour of adoration.
On Good Friday, the youth participated in the Way to the Cross which was acted out. Through the fourteen stations the youth journeyed along with Jesus to Mount Calvary, sharing the Passion and Death of Christ. It was an intense prayer moment where, everyone experienced the meaning of suffering and difficulty in the light of Christ`s suffering. The Youth Pasch participants also witnessed a beautiful one act dance drama: ``He Lives`` an episode from the life of Peter when he denied Jesus three times on the night of Jesus` arrest by the enemies prepared by the young people of DBI.
The Youth Pasch event reached its climax on Easter Sunday after the Eucharistic celebration, when all the participants were on the Easter picnic to Don Bosco School, Panbazar.
