Valedictory Programme at Don Bosco Institute   by Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim
    Guwahati, Sep. 10. 2017 September 5, 2017 will remain a red letter day for about 178 Bosconians who have graduated after having completed three months of vocational courses at the Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati. The graduation ceremony began at 9.30 am was graced by the presence of Sr. Augustinet, the Regional Superior of Missionaries of charity along with other two sisters, the Executive Director, the associate and the deputy directors, the staff and students of DBI.
    In his welcome speech, Father Johnson Parackal, the Executive Director of DBI intimated the gathering and  congratulated the graduating students on their success and reminded them that graduation marked a point of arrival, and it is not the end but, ``it is only the beginning of your journey; receiving of certificates should not be the`` and their hard work and dedication will take them to greater heights and lead to success. He added that anyone who is determined and works hard can surely achieve success in their lives. DBI has been sending out thousands of students after graduation yearly to join the work force of the nation and be a part in nation building.

    During the function, a few student representatives came up on the stage and minced words of praise and gratitude to Don Bosco Institute for facilitating such a wonderful opportunity for the youngsters to come and learn at great ease. On the occasion one of them said, ``DBI is a house of hope for the youngsters`` irrespective caste and creed, and hoped that it would continue to render such services to more and more youth coming for the trainings. On the occasion they gave a thunderous applause to the dynamic leadership of the instructing faculty of DBI.

    On the chief guest address, Rev. Sr. Augustinet said  ``Mother (Theresa) was called to light the light in the darkness of this world``. She remembered the loving service that mother rendered to the society irrespective of religious affinity or social inclination.  She congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts of DBI in serving the society in such a wonderful manner.  

    The occasion was like a dream come true for the 178 students who graduated to join the rest of the skilled population. It was a moment of pride for them as they have been working hard all along to reach these moments. They were graduated in various courses of three months duration--courses such as CCPT, CCA, DTP, Networking, Hardware, Tally and MCITP.  As the programme dew closer to its culmination, the chief guest and the directors of DBI proudly distributed the certificates to the passed out students amidst thunderous applause and jubilation. The function came to an end with the generous words of appreciation and gratitude by Father. Pojit Marak.
